Voting is a powerful right you have in our democracy. To vote, you must register to vote no later than 28 days before the election in which you wish to vote. You may register to vote in person at the Election Authority in the county and precinct where you maintain your permanent residency or you can mail in a voter registration form.
The State Board of Elections has more information on registration requirements and absentee voting.
Dr. Robert Bradley, Professor of Politics and Government at Illinois State University, provides an introduction and some specifics on registering here in McLean County or at home.
