School of Music Supports Community Involvement Through the ISU Civic Chorale

The School of Music is committed to the ISU Civic Chorale by making it part of a faculty's teaching load. It is one of the longest running organizations on campus. Undergraduate and graduate students sing with community members who have been in the choir for more years than those students are old! There are faculty, community members, students, and staff comprising this incredibly diverse group. We rehearse together to prepare for public performances, both on campus and off; in May we took a performing tour in Europe. The students have become keenly aware of the importance of commitment and contribution to community and life-long learning. The interaction of the various constituencies is full of only good will and respect.
