Members of Euphemism - ISU's Online Literary Magazine - Work with Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization

We are currently developing a proposal so that we can offer a creative writing workshop for the Big Brother/Big Sister organization in Bloomington-Normal. In this workshop, members of Euphemism, all undergraduates from a variety of majors, would work one-on-one and in small groups with area youth to help them construct poems, stories, essays, etc. The workshop would culminate in a reading-- with both the Euphemism staff and the participants reading from their work. We would then publish participants' work in a special issue of our on-line journal. Although we are just beginning to facilitate this first opportunity with Big Brother/Big Sister, Euphemism members have expressed an interest in working with other community groups to sponsor similar community workshops.
