Family and Consumer Sciences Dietetic Interns Promote Value of Good Nutrition

The Dietetic Interns are promoting the value of good nutrition in Family and Consumer Sciences 498 Professional Practice. The students create educational handouts and teaching boards on various topics of nutrition. They present this nutritional information to various organizations and population groups throughout the community. Some of the places they have presented at include daycares, preschools-high schools, nursing homes, sororities, churches, and businesses. They finish this unit by hosting a nutrition fair during March - National Nutrition Month where the class invites businesses focused on improving the health of our community to come and have a booth at the fair. The one-day fair is open to the public, and the students also have cooking demonstrations for the fair attendees.
